My name is Dr. Rohit Chaudhary, and I am a wildlife ecologist, researcher, and educator specializing in large carnivore ecology and conservation in India. I completed my Ph.D. in Wildlife Sciences from Aligarh Muslim University, where my research focused on the ecology of leopards in the Gir Protected Area, with a key aim of understanding leopard coexistence with the Asiatic lion in a shared carnivore system.
Following my Ph.D., I expanded my work to the shared landscapes of South Gujarat, India, where I began studying how leopards persist and survive within human-dominated agroecosystems.
I am currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Wildlife Sciences at the College of Forestry, Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Uttar Pradesh, India. My broader research interests include large carnivore ecology, habitat and prey selection, predator–prey interactions, and applied wildlife management, along with active involvement in teaching and training undergraduate students in wildlife sciences.
I am open to research collaborations on large carnivore ecology and conservation in India, including spatial ecology, habitat use, human–carnivore coexistence, and monitoring using camera trapping and telemetry.
